Day 34- A Place We Can Find True Rest

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone: my hope comes from Him.  ~Psalm 62:5

Where does your soul find rest?  True rest can only be found in God.  While some people find comfort in knowing that they have a steady job, some trust in the weapons they carry because that makes them feel safe, while others tend to rest in all kinds of things they feel make them secure.

Do you have a place that seems especially peaceful?  I love the sound of the ocean and watching the waves steadily crashing the shore. But there is no place like being in the arms of the one who loves me more than I can comprehend.  God wants us to know the rest that He gives.  We don’t have to wait until we get to heaven, because Christ lives on the inside of us we can experience God’s rest today.  The Holy Spirit teaches us how to rest in Him, because He is the ultimate comforter.

It’s clear that an absence of noise doesn’t necessarily mean you have peace, but the presence of the Holy Spirit definitely will calm your heart, and if you trust Him you will experience the only true rest that comes through knowing His abiding love.
