Day 45- His Strength is Perfect
9Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. ~2 Corinthians 12:9, 10
Today, Lord let me recognize my weaknesses, so you can prove your power.
I believe God want’s us to rely completely upon Him. He wants to demonstrate His power through us and wants us to know His faithfulness, as His power and strength are perfected in our weakness.
I am often reminded about how strong my Dad was in his last days on earth. It left me speechless as I saw just how much his worn body had to endure. Never once did he complain, or cry or even flinch as the nurses tried time and time again to draw blood from his very thin, tiny veins. He patiently waited as the nurses made seemingly futile attempts, one after the other, until finally the needle used for infants went in. Emotionally the nurse would apologize, and he’d just smile back at her and nod his head as to reassure her it was okay, he was okay.
In situation after situation Dad always seemed to have such strength and courage; words seem inadequate to describe. He’d done it! He’d allowed God to perfect His strength in him. I saw this one with my own eyes. So today, if I’m feeling just a bit stronger, it’s humbling to know this one thing for sure – it’s not I, but Christ that lives on the inside of me.
