Organizing the Inside – Day 365 Seek Intimacy With God

“And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. 1 Chronicles 28:9 (NLT)

Fellowship breeds intimacy. Intimacy with God is not something that is just going to happen because we hope for it. To know and experience the loving grace of God in a more intimate way we must first surrender, by faith to His divine will. Does God really want to know us intimately? But the man who loves God is known by God. 1 Corinthians 8:3 (NIV) As we answer our heart’s deeper calling in Him, our sincere desire will then be to know Him more intimately.

Let’s not let our needs be the single most important reason which drives us to seek God. Let it be our love that motivates us to give Him more time, attention and interest. The more we seek God, the deeper our desire to know Him becomes. The more we know God, the more we want to know about Him.

Let Intimacy bring about an entirely new gateway to experiencing a deeper commitment in Christ. God wants to do something new in your life and mine.  For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? Isaiah 43:19 (NLT) He wants to give us a new song to sing. As you go about your way, allow the Holy Spirit to put God’s fresh melody in your heart. There are those who will live and die having never experienced true intimacy with God. However, for those who are willing to diligently seek Him, they will indeed find Him. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Live out the purpose God has for you so that through your obedience others can clearly see His goodness. I pray you experience all that God wants for you. May the world catch a glimpse of true hope and contentment because of your life in Christ? For we know that the peace, love, joy, and complete fulfillment that comes from a personal relationship with God, cannot be compared with anything that this world has to offer. May your life be filled with His gladness and song, as you totally commit yourselves to living and celebrating it in Him. May you experience true hope, and the fellowship which is yours through Jesus Christ.  He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD. Psalm 40:3 (NLT)

Organizing the Inside – Day 67 Finding Peace That Endures

27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  ~ John 14:27

Why do Christians have inner turmoil when Jesus left us His peace?
Why are some born again believers tormented by fear, when Jesus tells us not to fear?  Is it a lack of faith; an unwillingness to see with our spiritual eyes that God’s word supersedes human logic?  If you’re struggling to unlock what seems to be the mystery of peace and total abandonment of fear it’s likely you have not become one with the Word of God.  Being one with the Word means whatever the Word says, you say, think, believe and agree with. That’s simple right?

This is not an impossible task by any means.
You can overcome doubt and fear.  You can overcome the lack of peace that suddenly sneaks up when hard times come. Here’s the thing, Jesus wouldn’t tell you to do something if it wasn’t possible.  He wouldn’t say to you don’t let your heart be troubled if that was impossible.

Realize that the devil is defeated and Jesus is truly Lord.
Realize that because Christ is living on the inside of you, you have access to all the power needed to live a full and abundant life.  If you are worrying and peace seems like a distant memory don’t give up. If fear seems to overtake your thoughts and you’re struggling to break free, there is hope.

Seek God with your whole heart.  If you’re ever going to cross over from doubt to faith, from fear to peace you are going to have to do it in Him. Remember with God all things are possible, but apart from Him we can do nothing. In Mark 9 the disciples were trying to cast out demons and couldn’t.  Look at what Jesus told them… 29And he said unto them, “This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” (KJV) What kind was He referring to? Jesus was referring to this kind of faith. In order to have the faith to cast out the hard thing in your life you are going to have to call time out to fast and pray. Asks God to help you cross over; and let’s get on with fulfilling His plan for your life.

Day 43- Keeping The Remote Under Control

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
~ Isaiah 26:3

What unnecessary burdens do we take on when we grab the remote and turn on the news?  Are we supposed to be concerned with every aspect of the world’s problems and woes? Is getting a not so healthy dose of the “world news report” only to then sit through an additional hour of local news good food for our minds?  Certainly we should care about what’s happening in other parts of the world and in our own neighborhoods, but we must be mindful of just how much added stress we allow ourselves to be immersed in.  The report of violence, corruption, financial crashes, car crashes and plane crashes often leave me feeling worse than all the day’s stress combined.

I’m electing to change this factor in my life.  CNN, NBC and ABC can only get a small part of my time and mind.  I’ve decided instead to focus more attention toward praying for the people who had the misfortune of making it on the news in the first place.  I suspect if more Christians spent less time allowing the evening news to infiltrate our peace of mind, and more time on our knees there would be less, so much less to report on.

God would not have us be ignorant, but most certainly He doesn’t want His beloved daughters to trade having the mind of Christ for the cares, complexities and chaos of the world.  Also read Philippians 2:5
