Organizing the Inside – Day 346 Practice Wisdom and Get Results

But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it.” Luke 7:35 (NLT)
…But wisdom is shown to be right by its results.” Matthew 11:19c (NLT)

When we walk in wisdom our prayers of faith will get results. Only the wise practice wisdom. Wisdom is applied knowledge. Therefore by taking what we know to be TRUTH and applying it to our lives we are practicing wisdom. When we pray according to God’s Word those prayers are answered because His Word is His will. Your prayers are heard because Jesus bridged the gap and paid the price to reconcile us to God. Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6 (NLT)

Do you want your prayers to be effective? Don’t expect God to answer your prayers when your life is in shambles because of the way you’ve been living. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16 (NLT) Prayer is not a time of negotiations with the Father. It is a time of faith and humility, when we go to God with an expectation that He not only hears us, but is able and willing to deliver us and answer our prayer.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)

But in my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears. Psalm 18:6 (NLT)

Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong–you want only what will give you pleasure. James 4:2c, 3 (NLT)

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)

Just remember: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3 (KJV)

There are no “super saints” your prayers have just as much value as anyone else’s. When you put God’s will ahead of your own desires, things begin to happen. Asking through prayer in Jesus name is about being where He is on the matter. Living life in a way that one’s heart is yielded to God’s purpose and plan is living right before God. This is righteousness: to agree with God and allow His Word to abide, direct and rule in your heart and life.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1 John 3:22 (KJV)

Wherever God is, choose to be there also. Living right before God really has little to do with a list of do’s and don’ts. We are free from the former ways of, do not touch this and do not touch that. By surrendering your heart to the Lordship of Jesus Christ you are made worthy. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV) Walk in God’s wisdom, apply it to your life and (even the secret places) not only will your prayers be effective, they will yield enduring results. …attend to my words; incline your ear unto my sayings. 21Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. 22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:21, 22 (KJV) Consider yourself worthy in Him, walk circumspectly in His wisdom and your prayer life will yield great results.

Organizing the Inside – Day 334 What Do You Know?

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (KJV)

Consider for a moment what this scripture tells us we know. We know that all things… I wonder, what is it that we truly know? To bring one’s mind and heart completely in agreement with God’s Word is to know.  To know God’s Word is to establish a relationship with it. Reading the Word won’t automatically give you a relationship with it. However, meditating on the Word of God will intrinsically change what you know and completely free your heart from fear and doubt. By meditating on the Word you establish a knowing (or relationship) with the truth that defies human logic. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)

Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Psalm 119:97 (NIV) Through biblical meditation we can affect the course of our lives, because when we receive the engrafted Word of God in our hearts FAITH happens. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (KJV) To stay strong and have peace in a world where everything that is wrong is considered right, and all that is right is considered wrong, we must make time to meditate.  To survive in a foreign land there are some things that those of us who are in Christ must “know.”

Another similar post on meditation.

Organizing the Inside – Day 312 Revelation Knowledge, Now What?

11While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar. 12Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him. 13But the angel said, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John. 14You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, 15for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. 18 Zechariah said to the angel, “How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.” 19Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news! 20But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. Luke 1:11-15, 18-20a (NLT)

Zechariah didn’t believe the angel who came to tell Him of what God was doing. His first response was to rely on what he thought he knew. Often when God sends us a new revelation the first thing we do is question it, often by questioning the messenger. Many take it a step further and begin asking everyone around them if they think this is what God wants. Zechariah’s unbelief was not something God wanted him to go around speaking and perhaps that’s in part why his mouth was closed until after the baby was born.

Another thought to consider is that God doesn’t always want us talking about new revelations He gives. He’d rather us believe it, continue in prayer and go about living it (be about it and not just talk about it). Every message that God gives you is not always something to share openly the minute it’s received. Elizabeth went into seclusion for the first five months of her pregnancy. She was a godly woman and I believe she was led by the Holy Spirit in her decision. Don’t always be so quick to share your revelation or good news when it comes. Make sure your timing is God’s timing. It can be very exciting when God gives us revelation knowledge, a new message of truth, but not all knowledge is for sharing with others.

What is your first response when God sends His message of good news? Are you like Zechariah, quick to consider the reasons why it wouldn’t work? Do you wonder how it could actually be true that God would want to bless you in this great way? This kind of response is not humility, it is doubt and unbelief. Zechariah was a righteous man, yet that didn’t preclude him from doubting when he heard the message. Not believing a message of good news that comes from God shows a lack of trust in Him. Keep the right attitude toward the things of God and be open to whatever He wants to do. So much of what we read in God’s Word tells us to trust Him, yet we often do the opposite by relying on what we understand as truth. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 (NLT) Remember the Word of God is the one thing we can always rely on to be absolutely true.

Openly embrace the message from God when it comes. When the message lines up with the Word of God and what He has already placed on your heart, don’t automatically question it. There are many things that we do that require less intellectual perception and more spiritual discernment. Be willing to allow God to move in a surprisingly new way.

Organizing the Inside – Day 270 Give Away Your Broken Pieces

Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever. Daniel 12:3 (NLT)

Wisdom is applied knowledge.
When you have built a relationship with knowledge and have accepted truth, only then can you apply your knowledge. We must first be partakers of God’s Holy Word to establish wisdom. The wisdom that comes from your life experiences is meant to be shared. God didn’t charge you anything for your salvation and healing. Freely you have received and freely you must give. Let your light shine as it will light the way by encouraging others to be in right standing with God.

Your broken pieces are worth more than you know.
Everyone has had brokenness before. We’ve all had something in life that was broken. Something somewhere along your path and mine has been broken. Maybe it was a dream, a broken marriage, a broken friendship, or a broken heart. Dealing with brokenness is not easy, but it does have to be dealt with.  Your victory over brokenness can help bring healing to someone else.

Let God end your brokenness and bring your healing first.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 (NIV) When God mends our hearts and saves us from our brokenness; we must be willing to then give to others. The wisdom that comes from having “gone through,” is unlike the results we only read about. Once you have walked through something with God, your broken pieces become a tool to help others, but only if you let it.

The wisdom that comes out of our broken pieces must be shared. Too many Christian women choose to wallow in sorrow, never accomplishing anything more than mastering the art of a pity party. The time comes when you must allow God to mend the broken pieces and restore your will to do even greater things than before. Now you are stronger, not weaker; you are wiser and better. Sharing means giving, and you can surely give your way out of sorrow and sadness. Giving out of love and compassion always comes back to you in the form of rich rewards. The fulfillment that comes from giving in service to others will amazingly bring about healing in your life.

Where are your broken pieces?
If you’ve been carrying them around, perhaps God Is saying lay them down. Maybe you feel you have a right to carry this load. The only revenge you can find is to hold on tight to your brokenness. I believe God wants to give you a new dream and a new promise. Let go of all the broken pieces at once and let God place in your life something new. Be willing to give God everything, even your broken pieces.

Organizing the Inside – Day 111 A Walk of Faith

15Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.  Ephesians 5:15, 16

Look carefully at your walk.
Do you look down when you are walking? Perhaps this is a sign that you are ashamed of something, maybe something from your past.

Do you look around you as you are walking? Perhaps this might indicate that you are more concerned with what people around you think.

Do you look behind you when you are walking? Perhaps this means you don’t want to let go of something that clearly you are walking away from; something you should walk away from.

Do you stare aimlessly as you are walking? Perhaps this is a sign that you don’t really care much about where you are headed.

Do you keep bumping into things as you are walking? Perhaps you need ask God to remove those barriers.

Do you keep stumbling as you are walking? Perhaps there are things in your life that shouldn’t be there.

Do you look straight ahead as you are walking? This may indicate that you are completely focused on what’s in front of you.

Do you look forward as you are walking? Perhaps this means you are excited about the future and very interested in where you are going.

Do you look up as you are walking? Maybe you except something wonderful from above.

Organize what you know about your walk.
It’s always a good idea to pause for a moment of introspection. Look inside of yourself and asks the hard questions that you’d rather just avoid dealing with.

Is your walk worthy of the call?
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, Ephesians 4:1

God wants you to trust Him.  We walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

He wants you to walk wisely, and wisdom is applied knowledge. Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
Proverbs 4:7

Consider God‘s will for your life. What do you know so far about God’s plan for your life?

STEP 1 Start with what you already know about what He has called you to do.

The beginning of wisdom is to acquire wisdom. Acquire understanding with all that you have.
Proverbs 4:7

STEP 2 Do it! (apply knowledge)

47That servant who knows his master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
Luke 12:47, 48

Day 36- Today I Answered the Call of Wisdom

1Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?  2On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; 3beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud: 4“To you, O men, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind.
5You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding.  6Listen, for I have worthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. 7My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness.  8All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. 9To the discerning all of them are right; they are faultless to those who have knowledge. 10Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, 11for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. 12“I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.
~Proverbs 8:1-12

I realize something today that I’m not certain I clearly understood before; the value of wisdom.  God wants me to do my very best to gain wisdom and get understanding.  Wisdom is living the Word; it is putting into practice what you are taught; knowledge being lived out in one’s life. I’ve come to understand that God see wisdom as supreme. It ranks higher than many things that I’ve spent my time pursuing.

I want to invest my money, time, and focus in one thing that God has put high value upon; wisdom and understanding.  Proverb 4:7 Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.  Though it cost all you have, get understanding. This, for me adds considerably more value to a coach’s word, or a teacher’s insight, or a mother’s instructions that I did not fully understand before.

As I look for ways to make my life simpler, I know that getting that which is supreme will help me avoid a lot of obstacles that most likely would have obscured my path.
