How does one measure success? For me success is when I can help those around me to grow and stretch and dig deeper to reach their potential in Christ. Success is not measured by the return you receive on today’s investments, but by the return others receive (10, 20 years from now) from the investment you make in their lives today. Greatness in the kingdom of God is serving others from a heart of love and compassion.
What can I do for you? How can you help someone else reach her best? By taking an interest in the life and goals of others you not only help support collaboration in the body of Christ, you also help build unity. Competition and compensation must not be at the forefront of every decision you make. If I help my sisters in Christ achieve their goals, am I not helping the entire body? Who’s to say that the very gift you encourage your sister to develop, is not the same gift that God will one day use to change your own life. We are interdependent on one another. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NLT)
I want to encourage you to seek God ordained opportunities to invest in the lives of others. How can you serve Christ by serving your sisters? How can your gift help your sisters? What gifts do you have? Is God ready for you to offer them in service? Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 2 Timothy 1:6 (NLT) May God lead you down the plain paths of truth, and give you great clarity regarding His will for your life, for His name’s sake.

Amen. Liz, it’s about selfless service. We must spread the love and build each other up. I mean we all have to live in Heaven together, so we need to be one on earth.

Shenine, you’re right we have to strive for unity. Selfishness an greed is what the world is about…what can I get for me. As sisters in Christ we have to look out for each other. Then the world will see our love and realize Jesus is the WAY!
