Organizing the Inside – Day 256 A Prayer Life That Changes Things

Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. James 5:17 (NIV)

Elijah was a man of great faith.
His prayers got results; he earnestly prayed in faith for God to stop the rain. For three and a half years there was no rain because of Elijah’s request. Elijah’s prayer was according to the will of God. What we do know is this, The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16b (NLT)

Prayer should be our first response.
When you get a sharp pain in your head, or back what is your first response? When the dishwasher begins to sound weird what is your top-of-mind response? Do you immediately pray? If you answered yes, do you pray in faith or do you pray in fear? “Oh Lord, please don’t let the dishwasher go bad again,” is likely not a prayer of faith. If your immediate response to pain is something like, “Father I thank you in the name of Jesus that I walk in divine health, that He carried my sicknesses and bore my sorrows…” then you are probably praying in faith. Let’s make the matter plain. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) Since the scriptures make it clear that God responds to our faith, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) It’s high time Christian women take their rightful positions in Christ. You are a daughter of the King of kings and the Lord of lords. (1Timothy 6:15) He spoke and the world was then in existence. Is He not able to answer your prayers in Him, made in faith?

Does God respond to your whining and cries of desperation?
No matter how sincere your plea for help might be, remember God responds to your faith. Jesus told His disciples to have faith in God if they wanted to get results. He instructed them to have faith when they prayed. If you have been crying to God in passionate desperation, that’s enough already. He is your heavenly Father. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15 (NLT) Stop crying and pleading, ask Him for whatever you want and do it in faith! Dry your tears and begin now in the name of Jesus to act upon your faith. Look at what God told Moses. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Exodus 14:15 (NLT)

28They went right into the house where he was staying, and Jesus asked them, “Do you believe I can make you see?” “Yes, Lord,” they told him, “we do.” 29Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.” 30Then their eyes were opened, and they could see! Matthew 9:28-30 (NLT)

Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour. Matthew 8:13 (NLT)

Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment. Matthew 9:22 (NLT)

22Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. 23I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. 24I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. Mark 11:22-24 (NLT)

Organize your prayer life at once.
The first thing on your agenda to organize your prayer life is to have faith in God. By listening to the gospel preached, your faith will grow. This is the reason God put preachers and teachers in place. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Romans 10:17 (KJV) Discover the keys to a successful prayer life.
