Empowering Christian Women To Get Organized and Discover God's Plan for Their Lives

Organizing the Inside – Day 205 Born For Just Such A Time

13Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: “Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. 14If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”

15Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16“Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.” 17So Mordecai went away and did everything as Esther had ordered him. Ester 4:13-17 (NLT)

What woman is born to live and die unto herself?
I would suggest the answer is no one, or better yet, absolutely no one. There was a time in my life when my worst fear was that I would live and die having never fulfilled God’s true purpose for my life. Since then I’ve been blessed to move beyond that very sad place of uncertainty, but for years I was stuck in fear and laziness. I believe innately in each of us is the need to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. I also believe that this is the way God intended things to be. Ester realized that God’s purpose for her life was not about her, but it was about helping the people of God. So it is for each one of us as Christian women, the position that you are in and any benefits that your life would bring is not solely for your personal fulfillment. Your fulfillment is actually a result of what Christ did and your willingness to do God’s will.

Have you ever wondered?
How many people needed to read that book you neglected write? How many people needed your gift of encouragement to help them reach their potential when they felt like giving up? How many people needed to take that class you said you were going to teach, but never got around to doing the work to get started? How many millions of lives would be touched by your raw focus and unrelenting obedience? 1If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:1-4 (NIV)

When you don’t operate in your gifts and fulfill your purpose the whole body is affected.
The gift of prophesy needs prophesy, the gift of teaching need teaching and the list goes on. God didn’t put you here to duplicate what someone else is already doing. We are created in His image, but are unique with abilities that are authentic to whom He made us as individuals. We are one body, and we need each other, not independent from the whole, but so the entire body of Christ grows and benefits. Let us also not forget those of us who have been called with certain gifts like evangelism to minister to the lost. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. 1 Peter 4:11 (NLT) The universe and all that is to come is not some haphazard thought in the mind of our Creator. Your life and your purpose mean something; but you have to get outside of yourself to find it. Nevertheless your purpose is completely tied to the entire plan of God for His good pleasure to bring Him honor and glory. What are you doing about it? 1And so, dear brothers and sisters,I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1, 2 (NLT)

I urge you to do the work to carry out God’s plan for your life. Say yes to what He has put on your heart to do. Open your heart; don’t let time keep passing by without doing what you’ve been put here to do. While finishing is far more important than starting, everything must have a beginning. It’s never too late to say yes again, for you were born for just such a time as this.

Oh, how I needed this. You have got my number! I have heard God’s call over the last year. That is why I started blogging. I have felt so much that laziness and lack of discipline and organization are obstacles keeping me from bearing fruit for the Lord. I ask you to pray for me. I thank you for being faithful to share God’s wisdom. I ask for God to continue guiding you and speaking through you in Jesus’ name. Thank you!!

Hey Natalie,
God is so faithful! You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. I will continue to pray for you and as we come into agreement may every obstacle that hinders you from moving forward be removed, in Jesus’ name. We’ll stand together! Thank you for your kind words and prayer.

Wow, Liz! I can’t quite put into words the impact of this post. I wanted to write a post about women being raised up by God but didn’t want to offend anyone. I know it can be an issue for some. He has clearly given you gifts of teaching and wisdom. I have felt called to ‘something’ although I’m not sure what for so long that I sometimes wonder if I’ve heard right. Prophecy was an area I operated in for a long time until something difficult happened and it’s gone quiet, teaching is something I’ve taken a break from because we’ve moved locations and I have young kids and now I am writing. Something in my heart burns but it’s difficult to articulate. I’d love to ask you to pray for God’s guidance. I pray that he continues to use you powerfully. Your posts bless me more than you know. Thank you

Oil of Joy, I am humbled by your words of love and encouragement. I have no words to adequately express my humble thanks. It is an honor to serve the women of God. I only try to abandon my unbelief daily to do His work. I feel your perplexity and know sometimes this walk can be a difficult one. Ohhh! but God…through Jesus Christ has given us the power and strength to overcome. Indeed His love will be your guide as we come into agreement with you, that His will be done.
