Organizing the Inside – Day 154 Making Preparations

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. ~Ephesians 2:10

God is a preparer.Throughout the bible we read story after story about how the God prepared His people for what was to come. John prepared the way for Jesus and Jesus prepared us to receive the Holy Spirit. Mary prepared Christ’s body for burial and there are many other examples that teach us preparation is important.

It’s always interesting to me how my  Husband and I are opposite about so many things. He always stops for gas either on his way home or the evening before the tank runs low. He also does things like set the coffee machine the night before so he’ll have fresh coffee brewing first thing in the morning at the designated time his alarm clock goes off. On the other hand, I am one who tends to use the time I have now for what’s happening now.  I stop for gas only when I need it (usually) and I brew my tea when I’m ready to drink it and not a moment before. It’s pretty ironic the more I think about it; since I’m the professional organizer. Some of my quirky ways are hard for even me to understand.

I’m reminded of the woman in the book of Proverbs. 14She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. Proverbs 31:14-17
She worked hard to make sure her family was prepared for the days ahead. Sometimes being prepared could make a huge difference when an emergency occurs.

My past blunders have taught me a lot and I’m thankful these lessons haven’t come during an emergency. The lessons learned from my futile attempt to combine grocery shopping, oil change, hair salon, dry cleaners and car wash errands into one quick trip, has landed me on the side of the road calling AAA, one time too many. There I sat wondering how I could be out of gas when just yesterday there was at least a quarter tank left.

Spiritual preparedness is even more important. Being ready to face whatever happens that day requires us to start the day right. Some days bring more stress and pressure than others, and when you leave your home you really have no idea what challenges you’ll be faced with. From the keys on my laptop to the keys in my ignition everything somehow seems to work better when I’ve taken time to prepare myself for the day ahead. Giving God the first fruits of my day is the best way for me to be prepared, because preparedness beings on the inside.   May we each find the inner strength and clear thinking that spending quiet time alone with God brings.

Liz, our mere existence is Christ. He is the the reason. He is our purpose. These earthly things are just for our enjoyment for just a moment! Earth is our temporary home.
I have grown a thirst for Jesus more and more. Others won’t understand until they have a true relationship with Him. When he is not just another topic or subject, but our very being. I just love Him Liz, because who will die for our sins. If it was one of us who was perfect and asked to lay down our life for a sinner. We would be like not me, he or she is responsible for his own sins. That is what make God, so awesome. He sent His only begotten son to do what we would not or could not do.

Blessing Liz, because God is not only able but He wants to bless you and the rest of us freely. Amen.

Glory to you Jesus. For you are wothy to be praised, you are worthy of a thank you and amen.

Hey Shenine,
How eloquently spoken! I love Him too, oh but the depth of the love He has toward us, I simply can not comprehend. So glad to hear from you. Thank you for stopping in.
