Organizing the Inside – Day 139 God, I Feel So Ordinary
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. 13You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. 14Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! 15“If you love me, obeymy commandments. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.
John 14:12-17
Have you been searching for your special place in the plan of God?
Maybe you don’t have a traumatic past or a unique talent, or a particular ministry that you feel drawn to. While many women have highly effective ministries that are born out of a special talent, or unique gift or even a tragic or dramatic past, these things are not necessary for God to use you. You may be thinking you are just too ordinary. Your personal journey could be a simple one; nothing that would amaze and capture the attention of others. That’s okay, and it doesn’t mean that God’s plan for you is less important than His plans for someone else. Don’t allow yourself to wonder how God must want to use Sue mightily because she has such a powerful testimony. Sue’s truth belongs to Sue and it’s up to you to discover your own.
Discover the gifts hidden within.
Often Christian women have gifts, talents and abilities that they don’t even realize are there. Sometimes very strong and powerful gifts are hidden beneath all the busyness of a life that is cluttered and full of chaos. If you are trying to have it all and do it all, then you most likely have a few things in your life that are out-of-balance. Once you slow down enough to organize your personal, professional and spiritual life you will begin to discover the exciting possibilities of using your gifts for the kingdom of God. If you want to experience a fulfilling and productive life as a Christian woman then take time out and inventory your strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
God wants to give you the desires of your heart.
So what are you passionate about? What would you do if time or money wasn’t an issue? Discover your gifts and you discover the keys that will unlock the door to a more fulfilled life. Here are a few simple steps you can follow to discover your gifts and find out what your spiritual niche is. Know this; God has a unique plan for your life. No matter how old you are or how long you have pursued goals that you really aren’t passionate about; things can be different for you. If you are ready for change here are three simple steps:
Uncover and dismantle inaccurate and untrue beliefs.
Each of us have a set of inner beliefs that we carry throughout life. Some of those beliefs when untrue can hold you back from achieving God’s best for your life. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:5 God wants to use you in a unique way that only you can fulfill, and all this is deep within your heart. Allow His word to shine light and expose false beliefs that linger in your mind. The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding unto the simple. Psalm 119:130
It’s important to your personal growth and productivity that you see yourself through the Word of God and nothing else. Discovering God’s plan for your life is not about what you were taught, what your parents believed about you, or even what you’ve always seem to believe about yourself. By seeing yourself through the Word of God you realize the value of your worth and understand that you have overcome all the stuff from your past. No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:37 Forget false beliefs and agree with the Word, after all it(The Word of God) is the only absolute truth.
Seek specific direction.
You won’t pick up your bible and read, “Move to New York and use your gift of teaching to teach the poor who live in the neighborhood of 47th street.” That is an unrealistic expectation, and isn’t going to happen, because God isn’t going to change His word of course. So how does one find definite direction from God? Pray, Ask, Believe – that simple. He most certainly will speak to your heart, and you will know it’s Him; and you will have clarity because His direction and guidance will bring you peace. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27 Seek God’s will for your life diligently, and you will find it and there you will also find everything you ever really wanted. It’s TRUE! The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. Proverbs 13:4 If you want to know more about the special gifts of God you only need to ask. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. John 16:23
Thus says the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them … Ezekiel 36:37
Have faith and believe that He will show you.
God is the God of truth. He wants you to know His divine truth. He has good plans for your life, and happiness and prosperity are part of what He desires for His children. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 There is no secret code to crack and no one needs to go to the mountain top to bring down the answer for you. The answer to all your questions will come through your relationship and private communication with Him. Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. Ephesians 3:12
The veil in the temple was torn in two. (read Mathew 27:51)You need not find a mediator to petition God on your behalf. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15
Thank God in advance.
Have fun on your journey of discovery with the Lord. Get excited about the plan of God for your life. For God has promised to give you the desires of your heart. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:4
