Organizing the Inside – Day 125 Insecure, Who Me?

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
~Hebrews 4:12

God isn’t waiting for you to get there before He can use you. God wants to use you along the way. Insecurities are sometimes our way of protecting ourselves from disappointment or embarrassment. Feeling insecure is normal, but it is not something that we just have to live with. The Word of God is the only thing that can go deep enough into your heart and soul to free you from your insecurities.  Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom. Psalm 51:6

You are born with all your gifts intact.
Certainly there is a period of growth in which you will have time to develop those gifts, but the ones you have are perfect for you. So accept your gifts as God’s best for you and they will help facilitate your contribution to the Kingdom of God. The more you accept the fact that you are fully capable of doing whatever it is that God has put in your heart to do, the sooner you can stop nurturing your insecurities and get on with the business of fulfilling God’s plan for your live.

Secret insecurities are a trick of the enemy.
The enemy would have you to doubt yourself and second guess God until you have gone on to glory. It is by no means to his advantage that you would discover the boldness that only the Holy Spirit can give, and stop listening to the untrue voice in your head. Yes! Listen to the voice in your heart. No matter how farfetched it may seem.  I’ve had dreams that, then seemed to be the furthest thing from the truth, but in fact those dreams were part of God’s plan for my life. The devil has no real power (it was stripped from him by Christ) and so he can only try to trick you into believing his lies. He wants to deceive you into forfeiting your true power; the power of the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you.

I used my insecurities to prove I couldn’t move ahead for far too long.
When it was convenient, I would wear them like a banner. (but, usually I’d keep my insecurities hidden) “Well you know I could never do that I’m too shy” and of course it would work. One day I realized just how foolish it was to let my insecurities choke out my dreams. I realized that unless I allowed God to show me how to break down some of those barriers I would never get to experience certain things in life. In spite of all my progress, insecurities have a tendency to rear their ugly head when I least expect them. But thank God for the Holy Spirit who exposes the truth and brings everything that is hidden to light.

Let the light and truth of the Word of God shine inward on every area of your life.
You need to bring it out and let God deal with it. Let Him shine the light on those insecurities and expose your hidden secrets of shame and defeat. For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light.  Mark 4:22 As the light exposes that which is hidden, you’ll start to see your insecurities for what they are. They are nothing like the truth; a lie straight from the pits of hell, lingering there in your mind trying to hold you back from serving God.  That lie is telling you that you can’t, when the Word says you can; or telling you you’re not smart enough when God said, you have the mind of Christ. So whether you’ve been thinking you’re too short or too tall or too big or too small (and those are the nicer ones) realize today that God made you in His image and in His likeness, and He filled you with His power, to enable you do His will.  I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12 Jesus said he was going, but He would send the Helper, the Holy Spirit. (also read John 16:17, John 15:26 and John 14:3)

With the start of the New Year well underway, put it on the top of your list of things to do; to LET GO of all those INSECURITIES and realize what God said. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:13 Once you realize it accept it and make it a part of your everyday life. You may at first feel as though you are calling those things that aren’t as though they were, but don’t give up.  The power of God’s promise is within the promise itself, and the truth of that promise will MAKE YOU FREE.
