Organizing the Inside – Day 117 When The Enemy Wages War Don’t Agonize, Organize
1After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to make war on Jehoshaphat. 2Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Sea. It is already in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi).
2 Chronicles 20:1, 2
When faced with what seems like an impossible situation and it looks as though the enemy has the upper-hand, the most important thing you can do is organize yourself and those around you to prepare for spiritual warfare.
Here Are Ten Steps to Consider:
1. Resolve to seek God. 3aAlarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord,
2. Proclaim a fast. 3band he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.
3. Unite your faith with other believers. 4The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord.
4. Openly proclaim God’s promises and bring His word before Him. 5Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the temple of the Lord in the front of the new courtyard 6and said: “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you…”
5. Pray, talk to God about your situation; let God know you are standing and trusting in Him. 9‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’
6. Acknowledge your weaknesses. 12a,b”O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do,
7. Fix your eyes upon God. 12cbut our eyes are upon you.” Don’t look at your circumstances, look to God for your hope of deliverance lies in Him. (also read Micah 7:7 and Psalm 121:1,2)
8. Involve the entire family. 13All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord. When you are in an impossible situation if you are going to trust God; this is a great teachable moment. This will teach your children how to trust God and what to do when the enemy tries to attack.
9. Expect to hear and word from the Lord and listen to the messenger God sends. 14Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel… 15He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army.
10. Understand that the battle belongs to God and He will see you through 15dFor the battle is not yours, but God’s.

What a remarkable demonstration of God’s faithfulness, and the possibilities that emerge when we trust and obey Him.
