Organizing the Inside – Day 101 Be Still and Quiet the Noise of Clutter

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. ~Psalm 127:2

Do something you love to do, just for yourself.
Maybe it’s the stroke of a brush across a blank canvas, or the smell of your wood burning fireplace as it crackles on a cold winter night. Movie night with the kids or finally using those spa tickets you received for your birthday and treat yourself to a full day of pampering. Whatever you choose, do something especially for you. Replenish your strength!  All that you have to do will most likely be there when you return to your labor.

Being organized often means keeping a tight schedule.
The cares of this world coupled with all the burdens of a busy work week will soon be forgotten as you lose yourself in doing what you enjoy for a change. If you enjoy an occasional crossword puzzle or even a round of goal, give this gift to yourself, do sometime that will help relieve stress. Doing what you love quiets you and helps regenerate your energy. Keep an appointment for downtime on your schedule at least once or twice a week.

Don’t feel guilty or as though you’re being selfish.
It’s understandable that if in the normal course of your day you are pressed on every side, you may feel guilty about taking time for yourself. Taking time for you will allow God to replenish you; which will make it possible for you to be more effective. How will you have anything to give to others if you don’t first, get what you need for you? There is a time for everything under the sun.  Make time for you; there is no point in working so hard if you never take time to enjoy the fruit of your labor.
