6For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man’s misery weighs heavily upon him. 7Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come?
Timing is everything when it comes to fulfilling your dreams.
Do you ever feel as though your life is sitting on the tarmac waiting; a simply strange type of holding pattern? You may feel like more than once you’ve had to wait far too long and God doesn’t understand your time-table. Perhaps you are ready for take-off but God has you waiting. Accept where you are and make good use of this time. If God gave you everything you wanted right now would you truly be ready?
This can be a difficult and challenging time.
It’s easy to jump ahead of God’s plan because you feel you should be doing more. Who doesn’t want their dreams to happen right away? Many Christians are plagued with anxiety and feelings of resentment because they feel things aren’t happening as fast as they want. Maybe you feel your two-year plan has now become a five-year plan and you’ve thought about giving up. Unless you have gotten completely off course God is most likely preparing you for your future.
Perhaps you feel like nothing is happening; that God has moved on to another project and didn’t inform you of the new program. DO NOT be deceived. 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
God does nothing haphazardly and without thought.
He not only made detailed plans when he created the universe but He discussed important decisions with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. He is a God of order and consults with Himself before moving forward with important plans. 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion… 27So God created man in his own image, Genesis 1:26, 27 Surely the same God that created mankind can handle the appropriate timing for this dream that HE gave you.
Trust God with your future.
If God is telling you that now is not the time for a particular phase of your dream to come into fulfillment; TRUST HIM with your whole heart. That doesn’t mean give up, nor does it mean change course. Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame. Isaiah 50:7
Thank Him for not putting you out there before you are ready.
There very well may be a few more things, people or situations that He wants to put in order before you proceed forward. God is faithful and He knows exactly where you fit into His plan. Your knowledge is limited; God looks at the “big picture” and can see straight into the future. God has told you before, “I GOT THIS.” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
The Holy Spirit will warn you.
He will not take over and control your actions. If you have decided that in spite of God having you wait on Him, you are going to plow right ahead, trust me He will let you. He will never take away your free will to choose. If God has put on the breaks or is slowing things down a bit, use this time to GET READY and prepare for what is ahead. His plans for you are awesome and with a loving and compassionate heart; He just wants you to be ready for all that He has for you. Now finish what you began, so that your eagerness to do so may be matched by your eagerness to complete it. 2 Corinthians 8:11 Also read James 1:4
Wow! It’s amazing how many of the same things that you talk about here I have talked about in recent posts!
You have an excellent writing style.
If you have time, check out my website at http://www.michaelfordii.com. I just recently wrote and published my first book, and it is about pursuing your dreams in a way that pleases God. It is entitled, “So, You Have a Dream…Now What?”
Hey Michael, one love, one God, one blood, one Lord, same family. God is just smart like that. To know Him is to love Him. Thanks for the visit, I hope you’ll comment again soon.
