Organizing the Inside – Day 74 Friendship is a Gift From God

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
~ Galatians 6:2

Your friends often come to you with their problems.  They aren’t shy about asking your opinion or even asking for a favor or two.  You are always happy to help and willing to do whatever you can to support your friends.  Yet when you are in need of help you keep silent.

Somehow all your friends have come to look up to you.
Whether it is because a specific position of authority like a minister or other church leader, you find it difficult to ask others for help.  You say that you rely on God and that’s why things are the way they are.  You give and give but are uncomfortable when you are the one in need.  At some point or another everyone just wants to talk to someone with skin.

God never intended you to go at it alone.
Even your spouse sometimes is not ideal person to offer support in certain circumstances.  God made sisters and girlfriends I’m certain because He knew that we would wear out our spouses if we didn’t have them.  If you have felt like you are expected to show no weakness or if you’ve been labeled the one who has it going on…you know the one who really has her act together; remember pride comes before the fall.  Now I’m not suggesting that it’s anything wrong with being a leader.  We definitely need leaders but even leaders at one point or another need support and help.

Ultimately God is the one we need to trust, rely upon and confide in, but sometimes it’s okay to show some vulnerability it only means that you’re human.  If you don’t have a friend that you can ask for help and support,  ask God who He has in mind. He will send someone to help bear your burdens.  He is great at building relationships and doesn’t want you to go it alone.

Love this. This is how many anointed men and women in God get burnt out. Always pouring out, but never allowing anyone to pour into. We are One Body, true, but that body consist of many members, and God never meant for any one member to bear the whole burden.
